Hi. It's been awile sence I've created any topics here, but in light of a new discovery, and discovery of problem in said discovery, I figure this is the best place for asistance.
As some of you may know, I am a guitarest of 15 years. As a blind musician, I regret to say that everything I know is basically self taught and improvised as I have no means to read guitar tabliture. However, I recently found something on the net that may remity this situation.
Enter Lunar Tabs Pro. LTP is a Google project I found wile trying to see if there were any other ways of reading guitar sheat music. Basically, it takes tabliture that is written in the GP5 format, and allows for screan readers to read the notation. If, say, an A note appears in the tabliture, then it will say something like, "play 3rd string, 2nd fret for one quarter measure." This is perfect as it is pretty much what I have been looking for.
Now, here's the kicker. I honestly didn't know where to post this topic because of this, but I downloaded Lunartabspro V3 and readied myself for a good night of music study. However, after downloading and extracting the folders from the .zip file, I noticed that there was no .exe file. I've looked all over those folders, and have not found not one mentioning of an exicutable of any kind.
The .zip folder contained two main folders, the Mac version, and the windows version. In the windows version, there are two more itoms, Lunar Tabs.jar, which I understand is a Java Archive folder, and a readme. However, the readme only contains information about using the software after it was installed.
I tryed renaming the .jar extention to a .zip to see if there was something I am missing, and all that allowed me to do was see the contence of the folder. I reinstalled Java and tryed running the .jar file as I had no more ideas, and that didn't get me anywhere.
If someone could shed some light on this topic, I would greatly apreciate it. I'll append the url to the download page for LTP so maybe you can see what I am looking at. If this works, then I will be so happy you have no idea. But, the only way it's going to work is if someone can kindly point out to me what I am doing wrong.
